Guantánamo.- The proposal, put forward by the Transportation subgroup, in prior coordination with the specialists and technicians, who undertake the actions to restore the roads, was approved by the Defense Council of the Guantánamo Province.
There are several additional security measures adopted to undertake the transportation to Baracoa and Maisí. To this is added improving road signage, where work is still being done.
The management of the National Bus Company in the Guantanamo Province formed a group of five drivers and other specialists, and they made a trip to Baracoa and Maisí, to identify the critical points of the road and thus, guarantee the safe passage of this type of bus.
The drivers of the province, with knowledge and experience on driving in La Farola viaduct will be chosen to travel on this road, taking into account signs and the speed, among other specifics that will be specified with the drivers.
The drivers should be aware of the permanent work in the collection of debris from the landslides on La Farola highway, as well as, the work carried out on the compaction of the sections on the Guantanamo-Imías road and the Macambo and Yacabo Abajo route.
The Viajeros Company offers priority attention to passengers who still have tickets while the service was cancelled. In this regard, the company with the support of the Provincial Directorate of Transportation plans a schedule of operations to achieve the transport of passengers to these municipalities.
