Guantanamo.- The successes and problems of the progress of recovery in Baracoa from the damage caused by the meteor Oscar, a month ago, were discussed this Tuesday in the usual meeting held by the Municipal Defense Council (MDC).
Chaired by its main authorities: Gienni Paján Cobas, as president, and Eider Milhet Laborí, vice president, the body reviewed the results of the day in the most pressing programs that the different work groups attend to.
The MDC analyzed profoundly on the Education sector, which although it already has 103 schools recovered, there are still 14 to be repaired, most of them located in intricate areas, whose roads were affected by Oscar and today it is difficult to transport the materials to undertake the construction actions.
In this sense, it was agreed to assign a car with the necessary technical conditions for the transportation of material resources, as well as to coordinate with productive forms and district delegates to support with alternative animal transport, if necessary.
It was also reported on the entry into the municipality, to date, of 1,959 mattresses through the commercial route, whose sale is considered as slow in some defense zones where, according to those responsible, many people say they do not have the financing for their acquisition.
In this regard, the MDC urged the Municipal Labor Directorate to provide more information to the victims about the payment methods to which they are entitled, as well as to subsidize to those who meet the requirements for it.
The Municipal Defense Council assessed at the meeting issues related to the entry and distribution of donations, the basic family food basket, the supply to small squares and markets, among others.
At the meeting to check the recovery, the President of the Municipal Defense Council called for the action of the workers in greeting the new anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution.
Likewise, he urged each union to assume the transformation of its workplace, cleaning and decorating everyplace in order to return the beauty and charm to the city and settlements of Baracoa.
