Guantanamo.- The Provincial Council of Performing Arts of Guantánamo, the Provincial Directorate of Culture and the Venceremos Newspaper are launching a call for groups, actors, oral storytellers, puppeteers, researchers, theater experts, journalists, photographers and artists in general to participate in the third Virtual Theater Crusade “Voces Cruzadas”, within the framework of the XXXV edition of the Guantánamo-Baracoa Theater Crusade, to be held from January 28 to March 3, 2025.
The event, which will bring the theatrical art and other expressions to hard-to-reach areas of the Guantanamo mountain range and on this occasion especially to the municipalities affected by the passage of Hurricane Oscar, will be dedicated to the legacy of José Martí, to the indigenous culture in Cuban and to Brazil, for the preservation of its native cultures.
Taking advantage of the possibilities offered by the Internet, the organizing committee has considered a series of variants that will allow a better presence of our event on the networks and will enable the participation of other voices from Cuba and the world, understanding this new modality expanding new horizon in theatrical art.
Groups and personalities may express their interest by sending an email to the following email address: cip227@venceremos.cu, with the subject: Virtual Theater Crusade Voces Cruzadas. The deadline for admission of the works to be sent expires on February 10, 2025.
The admitted works will be part of the Voces Cruzadas programming, which will be held as a digital complement to the XXXV Guantánamo-Baracoa Theater Crusade.
