The top political leader was accompanied by Jorge Luis Aneiros Alonso and Vivian Díaz Bardají, presidents of the Union of Historians at the national and provincial levels, respectively, and Yoelbis Labañino López, Provincial Director of Culture.
From April 11 to 14, eighty delegates from Villa Clara, Santiago de Cuba, Cienfuegos, Sancti Spíritus, Havana, Las Tunas, Holguín, and Guantánamo participated in the event, in which they presented several papers related to the most important historic moments and personalities in the struggle for independence between 1868 – 1968, and also the problems of teaching history in all education levels.
