Cuban delegation, headed by Cuban Transportation Minister Eduardo Rodriguez, participated at the 2025 Facilitation Conference of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), held this week in Doha, Qatar.
Addressing the high-level ministerial segment, Rodriguez expressed his support of the Declaration of Doha and his government’s willingness to keep working for the development of a safe and efficient air transportation system, according to the Cuban Foreign Ministry.
The Cuban official shared the Cuban experience in the implementation of the norms and proceedings related to the facilitation and denounced that the imposition of unilateral coercive measures hinders the efforts of the states to implement regulations and principles related to the issue.
In the sidelines of the forum, which ran April 14-17, the Cuban minister met a tight bilateral agenda which included meetings with local authorities in the transportation sector, ICAO representatives and heads of delegations from other nations.
ICAO general secretary Juan Carlos Salazar thanked the Cuban minister for his attendance of the forum and stressed the historic relations between his organization and Cuba.
The 2025 Facilitation Conference was attended by more than 20 transportation ministers from ICAO member nations, civil aviation authorities and representatives of the civil aviation industry.
