A visit by eight permanent working committees of the National Assembly of People’s Power (ANPP, in Spanish) begins today in the province of Guantánamo and will continue until next Saturday, April 26.
The Cuban Parliamentary delegation will visit the municipalities of Guantánamo, Niceto Pérez, El Salvador, San Antonio del Sur, Baracoa, and Manuel Tames and will assess the degree of compliance with ANPP Agreement X-97 regarding the Government Program to correct distortions and boost the economy in 2025.
They will also analyze the status of the plan and budget at the end of the first quarter of this year, the Tax Declaration and Payment campaign, and the status of fiscal accounts and audit results for 2024.
The parliamentary visit will also assess compliance with the provisions of Law 132 on the Organization and Functioning of Municipal Assemblies of People’s Power, monitoring the results of the First Accountability Process of the Delegates in the current 18th term, and the actions carried out in the Rural Assistance Program.
As part of the work agenda, the committee members will meet with the leadership of the Assemblies of People’s Power in the municipalities under control, visit the retail network of agricultural markets, and exchange with workers, managers, and farmers in the local food system.
Meetings with the presidents of People’s Councils, delegates of People’s Power, leaders of mass organizations, and residents of communities and neighborhoods undergoing transformation are among the actions, in which they will exchange directly with the population.
Investments in the water sector, health centers (polyclinics, clinics, senior centers, and maternity homes), and exchanges with students and teachers in educational centers are also among the planned objectives.
Today, the permanent working committees of the National Assembly of People’s Power will begin their program in the municipalities of Niceto Pérez, Guantánamo, and El Salvador.
