Guantánamo.- Ten members of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS), of Guantanamo,  are representing this eastern province in the section of the music, literature, audiovisual, and performing arts sections at 32snd Romerías de Mayo, an event to be held from May 2 to 8 in Holguín under the slogan “cultural industries in favor of young art.”

The Guantánamo delegation attending the event is made up of journalist Ramón Matos Méndez, from the Imías Radio Playita Municipal Station. He will present the radio program “Cemí, an experience to discover and rediscover our Taíno heritage” at the Memoria Nuestra Thought Congress. This event also includes the participation of writer William Vargas Cabrera, with his reading promotion project “I Read, Therefore I Am.”

Likewise, filmmaker Yaliuska Samón Leyva is among the guests at the Cámara Azul event, where the call for entries for the 13th Jornada de Cine Andante will be announced, along with the screening of a selection of audiovisual materials that distinguish this community event promoted by the provincial branch of the AHS, in Guantánamo.

Furthermore, among the highlights of the literary section of the Romerías de Mayo, Letras Compartirs (Shared Letters), is the presentation of the book: Cosas que arden en el pasto (Things that Burn in the Grass), by the Guantanamo writer Ragnar Wilfredo Robas, who is 2024 Calendario Award winner, and recently received the Guamo Award, given by the UNEAC Provincial Committee in the territory to the artistic personality of the year.

Likewise, rapper José Ángel Galbán Hernández (El Estudiante) and the K’merino Dance Project, led by dancer and choreographer Felipe Adriano Catalá Balón, made up the Guantanamo delegation attending the the Romerías de Mayo, dedicated to the cultural industries in favor of young artists.
