Guantánamo.- For the third consecutive time, the province of Guantánamo has won the Congress of Thought and Memoria Nuestra Award. This year, radio broadcasters Yaneiris Núñez Rodríguez and Ramón Matos Méndez were awarded in the cultural research category for their research entitled: “Intercultural Dialogue: A View from the Radio broadcast.”

Both young creators, members of the provincial branch of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) in Guantánamo, work at the Municipal Radio Station Radio Playita, in Imías Municipality, and this strongly community-based research is the result of their work at this media institution in the coastal territory.

The award for this thirtieth edition of the Memoria Nuestra Thought Conference in this section was also shared with Santiago de Cuba-born researcher Tania Dranguet Guerrero for her work “Suspicions about a Cuban art market.”

Meanwhile, Mexican authors Isaac Márquez Nar and Guillermo Gerónimo Rubio Herrera received a special mention for their work “The History of Opera in Mexico and its Relationship with National Cultural Identity and Independent Youth Enterprises.”
