Guantanamo.- Guantanamo men and women, on June 13th, on occasion of the commemoration of the 72nd anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks on July 26th, the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba agreed to grant Special Recognition to the province of Guantánamo for the support given during this period to priority programs, with broad popular participation, as demonstrated by the recovery efforts from the effects of Hurricane Oscar.
After evaluating the results and stability of the territory’s key economic, political, and social indicators, the Provincial Party Bureau and the Government Council in Guantánamo decided to award the municipality of Caimanera the venue for the provincial commemorative event for the 72nd anniversary of the attack on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.
During the administration in the municipality of Caimanera, the working system between Party and government structures was strengthened, enabling progress in implementing the economic and social development strategy and a closer relationship with the population.
In the First Anti-Imperialist Trench, budget execution is being met and exceeded, addressing neighborhoods with vulnerable situations and purchasing resources for social assistance. State budget collection and the planned revenue plan are progressing favorably, and there are no loss-making companies.
In the Mother and Child Health Program (PAMI), Caimanera maintains zero infant and maternal mortality, increases the number of live births compared to the same period last year, and reduces the low birth weight rate.
It was also agreed, due to stability in a group of programs and economic indicators, and the provision of services to the population, to confer the status of Outstanding Municipality to the municipality of Maisí.
This serves as an opportunity to recognize the work and efforts of all the people of the Cuban Upper East, and their unwavering support for the Revolution and faith in victory.
