Guantanamo.- José Ramón Machado Ventura, Commander of the Rebel Army, recognized the revolutionary spirit of this people in Guantánamo, from its history to the present, particularly in the struggles of the Frank País Second Eastern Front.
He highlighted the efforts of the people dedicated to defending the work of the Revolution and its continuity, inspired by Fidel’s guidance, despite the economic difficulties in the current context that the nation is facing, Machado Ventura said in an exchange with delegates to the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power in the municipality of Guantánamo, where he is a member of Parliament.
Along with Yoel Pérez García and Alis Azahares Torreblanca, top Party and government leaders in the province, the Hero of the Republic of Cuba also acknowledged the high political and moral spirit of the people’s representatives, who despite the energy restrictions do not dampen their enthusiasm or willingness to overcome the current situation imposed by the Empire.
José Ramón Machado Ventura, Commander of the Rebel Army, urged the People’s Power delegates in Guantánamo to remain faithful to the ideas and principles of the Revolution, and to always keep alive the spirit of resistance, combativeness, dialectical thinking, and faith in victory that Fidel instilled in us.
During the twenty-third regular session, delegates to the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power in Guantánamo critically and comprehensively assessed problems that hinder further progress in the banking sector, the investment program, and other priorities, which need to be discussed so that the province’s contribution matches its potential.
They also analyzed the functioning of the prevention commissions in the People’s Councils and their work with vulnerable groups. The report of the Internal Order, Legality, and Defense Commission on the results of prevention and social assistance efforts was presented, among other important issues.
