Guantánamo.- The identification of local alternatives to meet the basic needs of the Guantanamo population was one of the main demands analyzed by the highest Party and government authorities during the Vitality Meeting, the regular morning meeting of provincial leaders.
Among the topics, the local authorities discussed on the impacts on electricity service, as the rotation of blocks is maintained depending on energy availability during the current day. Actions to expand generation through renewable sources continue, especially the construction of photovoltaic parks.
Regarding water supply, the analysis centered compliance with water cycles and the quality of the works to improve the situation in the south of the provincial capital. The authorities called for permanent water-saving measures.
Regarding the distribution of flour for regular bread, it is reported that the weekend will be stable, while efforts are underway to ensure the arrival of a new shipment to the province, which would guarantee production scheduled for next Monday.
Likewise, specific difficulties were assessed in the distribution of milk for children, with a supply of 1,500 liters in the province during the day, remaining below demand.
The Governor of Guantánamo, Alis Azahares Torreblanca, stressed the importance of supervising the recreational and cultural activities taking place this Saturday to mark the beginning of summer, which includes all municipalities.
During the meeting, she reiterated the need for systematic monitoring of incidents in the ten municipalities. She also emphasized that during the holiday period, the population should be offered different types of fruits, as well as typical dishes and traditional Creole cuisine, including guanimo, tamales, and boiled corn, among other popular products.
On the other hand, she emphasized the importance of using social media to communicate about each activity or event, ensuring that the population is informed about what is happening in the region.
