Guantanamo.- This August 1st marks the beginning of the Guantánamo Political Song Festival, the longest-running event organized by the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) in Cuba.
Its 49th edition combines music, visual arts, and poetry to pay tribute to troubadours Marta Valdés and Eduardo Sosa, and is also dedicated to young singer-songwriters.
The important event also evokes Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro on the occasion of his 99th birth and the intellectual Armando Hart Dávalos, on his 95th birth.
This Thursday night, the opening concert “Haciendo canción” (Making Song) was held at the Casa de la Música La Guantanamera.
