Guantánamo.- Starting Wednesday, September 17th in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, Guantanamo will be present at the World Athletics Championships, which run from the 13th to the 21st of this month.
That day, Lázaro Martínez Santray will compete in the triple jump, while on the 18th, long-distance runner Anisleidys Ochoa Suárez, “La Polaca,” is expected to compete in the 5,000-meter dash.
Starting September 17 and 18, the Guantanamo neighborhoods of Caribe and Los Cocos de Confluente will be watching closely the performance of Lázaro Martínez and Anisleidys Ochoa, beloved children of those districts of the easternmost provincial capital, in the World Championship.
The athletic event, with more than nine days of exciting athletic competitions, features the participation of 2,000 of the world’s best athletes from 200 countries.

We learned via WhatsApp from Tokyo, through Anisleidys, that she was adapting to the competition venue, and that everyone is in perfect health, dedicating daily sessions to training, and is ready to compete.
