Guantánamo.- The José Martí Park hosted the ceremony commemorating Provincial Monuments Day in Guantánamo on October 9th. During this ceremony, researcher José Cuenca Sosa spoke about the importance of preserving these recognized and popular cultural heritage sites.
The event was attended by pioneers from local educational centers and workers from the Provincial Cultural Heritage Center in Guantánamo. It was also a moment for recognizing for the work of the Ministry of National Development (MININT), the Provincial Fire Department, and the City Historian, José Sánchez Guerra. The ceremony was attended by Yanisleidis Blanco Gómez, Municipal Director of Culture in the Guantánamo Municipality.
This commemoration also became a space for evocation and homage to National Hero José Martí, held in the park that bears his name with the laying of a wreath, as well as to the Heroic Guerrilla Ernesto Guevara on the 58th anniversary of his death.
Guantanamo singer-songwriter Josué Oliva Matos and reciter Ángel Boffil distinguished this commemorative ceremony with their melodies and poetic performances, which was hosted by art instructor Gustavo Sánchez.
