Guantanamo – Workers from the Guantanamo Water Resources Delegation are currently focused on recovery efforts following the damage caused by Hurricane Melissa.
The Majimiana water supply system, serving the town of Bayate is being restored thanks to the workers’ tireless work in this eastern province.
With the restoration of electricity, water can now be pumped to the residents of this town in the municipality of El Salvador.
Among the actions taken in recent hours by Guantánamo’s water utility workers were the cleaning of the aqueduct channel of the pumping station that supplies water to Boquerón, Glorieta, and Maqueicito, as well as the Acueducto community, all located within the Segundo Anillo area.
It is also worth noting that a team comprised of members from the Guantánamo, Imias, and Maisí Basic Business Units are now repairing the gravity-fed aqueduct in Punta de Maisí.
Work continues on the maintenance of the Palma de Quemados pumping station. The technicians are also working long hours repairing the breakdowns that were preventing water service to the residents of the municipality of Manuel Tames.
The workers from the Water Resources Basic Business Unit, in Guantánamo, strive to find immediate solutions to each of the problems caused by Hurricane Melissa in Cuban eastern provinces.
