Guantanamo.- The need for greater control and stricter enforcement in the use of electronic payment channels, as well as for enhanced cybersecurity measures, were the focus of the most recent debates at the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba in Guantánamo.

Chaired by Yoel Pérez García, its first secretary, this political body analyzed the challenges and limitations of the computerization process in today’s society and emphasized the importance of this management, which seeks to simplify procedures and improve the efficiency of institutional work, in addition to greater transparency in processes and services.

The meeting of the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba in Guantánamo addressed the use of digital spaces to gather feedback from public opinion and provide responses, such as citizen portals and the progress in the rollout of digital terrestrial television, the latter benefiting from the acquisition of 15 new transmitters, for improved service quality in towns such as Tortuguilla, in San Antonio del Sur, and La Tinta, in Maisí.

Another topic evaluated was the progress of municipal food self-sufficiency, as a high-impact program in the town; it was particularly reported that municipalities such as Imías and Niceto Pérez barely manage to supply the food demanded by their people.
