Guantánamo – With the graduation of 725 young people, the University of Medical Sciences of Guantánamo has now trained more than 35,000 professionals in its 45 years of teaching in health-related fields. These new medical workers will provide high-quality health care in Cuba and around the world.

This achievement was recognized during the 43rd graduation ceremony of this higher education institution, which is distinguished by 82 academic honors awarded to graduating students whose performance exceeded high academic standards in the short-cycle training programs, Health Technologies, Medicine, Dentistry, and Nursing.

Seven Scientific Merit Awards were also presented to those who stand out during their careers in the research field, which contributes to the development of medical sciences in the province and the country.
