The commemoration for the World Proletariat Day calls today in a united march in Guantánamo the more than 128 thousand workers, along with farmers and students, as a sign of the alliance between the different sectors that characterizes the Cuban people since the struggles of the century past.
In the 10 municipalities of the province, the 15 labor movements participate in the parade and in the main city of the province on 5 blocks long to the Plaza de la Revolución Mariana Grajales, said Juana Eglis Fernández Louit, the General Secretary of the Cuban Workers Federation (CTC) in Guantánamo.
The first is the Victoria (Victory) bloc, made up of workers from the Sugar, Agricultural, and Civil Defense unions, together with the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution, and residents of the Obrero and San Justo neighborhoods.
The bloc Dignidad (Dignity) follows, made up of the Public Administration, Transport and Industry unions, with the National Association of Small Farmers and residents of the CAribe district.
The third is that of the Unidad (Unity), made up of the unions of Health, Hotel Trading and Tourism, the Food Industry and Fishing, accompanied by the Cuban Women Federation and the Norte Los Cocos and Pastorita neighborhoods.
In the fourth bloc Continuidad (Continuity), the unions of Construction, Energy and Mines, Education, Science and Sports, together with the Young Communists League (UJC) and the neighborhoods of the southern area of the city of Guantanamo.
The fifth and last block is La Victoria, made up of the Culture, Communications, Information Technology and Electronics unions, which will close the parade for the most important date of the proletariat worldwide.
All together they will demand the return of the territory illegally occupied by the US naval base and the end of the blockade against Cuba, as well as showing the will to continue defending the achievements of the Cuban socialist project.
