Keeping a constant exchange with people to know about their claims and concerns is the focus of the management of the Communist Party and the Government in Guantanamo, with the support of provincial and municipal organizations, to contribute to solving the main problems.
This is how it can be seen in Punta de Maisí, the easternmost of the communities in Cuba, and one of the main epicenters of government management in the province these days.
There, a constant check is focused on the main difficulties that affect the more than 1,600 inhabitants, such as: the deficit in the water supply increased by the severe drought in that territory, the limitations with food production, the program
housing completion and the generation of new sources of employment.
Authorities of the Provincial Branch of Water Resources state that at present, the municipality of Maisí is the most affected by the drought, and with greater impact in La Punta.
Faced with this situation, actions have been carried out for several months to reach the communities with water through different routes, such as tractors for shooting water with pipes;
and the connection, maintenance and increase in service hours of the desalination plant and the connection of near 1 000 m of conductive pipes to the settlements with the greatest difficulties.
