The seven existing children´s facilities in the ten municipalities of Guantanamo opened their doors to outstanding teachers and students, among which the winners of different teaching contests figure.
It is expected that during the summer period more than a thousand vacationers will go to these establishments, where they will be able to enjoy attractive recreational proposals, as Yoendris Samón Batista, methodologist of physical education, said.
He said that among the activities of the program for this second summer season are excursions, visits to museums such as the 11 de Abril in Imías and the Matachín in Baracoa, in addition to staying in bathing areas.
Samón Batista also said that kids pertaining to the Children’s Homes are prioritized, who will rotate through the 4 de Abril, 8 de Octubre camps, as well as those located in the municipalities of Imías, El Salvador and Baracoa.
Despite the fuel limitations and other resources, summer picnics in schools near beaches and rivers in the coastal territories of the province are also included among the proposals.
Since the beginning of the summer in Guantanamo, about 200 schools have opened their doors with various options such as: language courses, presentations of cultural projects, sports activities and reading festivals from school libraries.
