The Yateras Municipality will host the provincial event for the 63rd anniversary of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), a recognition endorsed within the five years holding the status of National Vanguard in the work of that organization.

The celebration will take place in a neighborhood of Palenque Town, a cause for joicing for the more than 300 CDR members who stand out for their contribution to the blood donation program, the recovery of raw materials and the bond with children, among other indicators.

The Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) were founded on September 28, 1960 at the initiative of Commander in Chief Fdel Castro. It was established as a neighborhood cell that channels the needs of the people, to defend the work that the Revolution began, women, men, the elderly, students, workers, peasants, professionals, intellectuals, retirees or housewives.

It is the largest of the mass organizations in Cuba made up voluntarily by people once reaching 14 years of age.
