The young soldier Yohana Torres Pérez, combatant of the Antonio Maceo Brigade, was elected as the first direct delegate of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) to the 11th Congress of the Young Communist League (UJC), to be held in April 2024.
Torres Pérez is 19 years old. She is from Pinar del Río and works as secretary of the youth organization in the Western battalion, where she performs her military service as part of her training as a student of International Relations.
After nine months of joining the institution, the young woman stands out as a leader, participating in voluntary work and cultural activities.
Regarding this opportunity to participate in the Youth Congress, the young woman was proud and committed to the combatants who chose her to debate at the Congress about the several problems that affect the youth sector today.
The ceremony for the delivery of the credential was presided over by Major General Víctor Rojo Ramos, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and other political leaders, combatants and retirees from the Military Brigade.
