Alis Azahares Torreblanca, Provincial Governor, and Carlos Raúl Martínez Turro, Vice Governor the top local authorities, visited some economic and social investments that are being carried out in the Manuel Tames and Guantanamo municipalities, a tour that included areas dedicated to food production.
The tour began in the “Granitos de Azucar” children’s house that is being built in the town of Argeo Martínez, a facility that in two rooms will accommodate 60 preschool children, whose parents are the workers of the sugar enterprise and local mothers.
The Guantanamo MSME Navlino is carrying out the work, scheduled to finish in December, and with which the Manuel Tames municipality will close with three children’s houses, adding to the one that is also completed in the mountainous community Los Tubos, in La Tagua.
The delegation also visited the small-industry for the processing of meat and by-products that is being built as part of a local development project, between the Esazúcar Enterprise and the Government of the Guantanamo municipality.
In the agricultural areas of the outskirts Santa María vegetable garden, on Guantanamo City, the Azahares Torreblanca learned of the effort to put about 40 hectares into production by the producer Javier Soriano, who assured that “these are excellent soils, with nearby water to harvest short-cycle crops as vegetables and roots that are highly demanded by the city’s population.”
The highest government authorities of the province also visited the “El Constructor” cafeteria-restaurant, a facility that will provide the offers paid by the Guantanamo poultry enterprise, when the overhaul repair of the building is completed.
They checked progress in the small-industry for poultry slaughter, processing and packaging in the La Jabilla area, near the provincial capital, which is being built with the help of the Russia Youth project, a visit to the “Ramón López Peña” alternative unit and the agricultural areas of Chutines, dedicated to the cultivation of different varieties of banana.
