The importance of patriotic education, the enhancement of the people’s long history of struggle and the need for the formation of values in the new generations, was analyzed at the balance assembly of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution (ACRC, in Spanish abbreviation) in the Guantanamo Municipality.

Held at the Desembarco del Granma School, the meeting was the first of its kind for the Centro neighborhood of this city and is part of the process leading up to the 6th ACRC Conference during the current year at the municipal and provincial level.

The participants also analyzed the importance of addressing the health and living conditions of the combatants, the rescue at the grassroots level of the historical memory of the association, the confrontation in the communities with the acts of crimes, illegalities and social indiscipline, the internal functioning of grassroots associations, popular recreational shooting and its financial contribution to the organization, in addition to participation in patriotic activities.

Guantanamo currently has 672 grassroots associations, with more than 13,400 members, an essential force at the service of the defense of the Revolution.
