Authorities from the Assembly of People’s Power of Guantanamo and provincial directors from different organizations, led by Governor Alis Azahares Torreblanca, arrived in the Caimanera Municipality to check compliance with the actions planned in the Territorial Development Strategy.
With a population of 11,273 inhabitants, Caimanera is a territory called to be self-sufficient in agricultural production, with the exploitation of about 40 hectares dedicated to the cultivation of bananas, 12 of sweet potatoes, 15 of cassava and others of fruit and vegetables.
The municipality must contribute to the economic and social growth of the province, from being the emporium for obtaining domestic salt in Cuba and other cultural and identity potentialities.
In the review of the strategic lines of development, with directors of municipal organizations and their provincial counterparts, Azahares Torreblanca insisted on “attending in a differentiated manner the tasks linked to food production, housing, hydraulic networks and water supply, problems that greatly concern the population.”
