The First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party and president of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, visited the Guantanamo municipality of Manuel Tames to evaluate the results of the work in fulfilling the political, economic and social commitments of the municipality in 2023 and the projections for 2024 based on the actions of the political organization.
The progress of the political process to correct the distortions and negative trends resulting from the transformations undertaken in the country was another of the objectives of the working visit that reached the EPCONS Manuel Tames Base Business Unit, the Argeo Martínez plant and the El Jamaicano restaurant.
Accompanying the president were Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party; Yoel Pérez García, first secretary of the Party in Guantanamo and Alis Azahares Torreblanca, Governor and other authorities.
