“Fidel entre nosotros” (Fidel between us), is the name of the personal exhibition of Nelson Domínguez, the 2009 National Fine Arts Award that will open in Guantanamo this Wednesday, June 5, at eight in the evening, in the Palacio Salcines ArtGgallery, of the Provincial Council of Visual Arts (CPAP, in Spanish abbreviation), in this city.

The collection of twenty works is one of the inaugural activities of the 46th edition of the Regino E. Boti Literature and Plastic Arts Contest, which includes an extensive program in both events, visual arts and literature, until Saturday 8th.

The CPAP’s Facebook page will dedicate its virtual space the collection “La mano en el misterio” (The Hand in the Mystery), starting at three in the afternoon today, to the exhibition motivated by the life and work of the Commander in Chief of the Cuban Revolution and prominent politician, in the artistic achievement of the notable Cuban painter, draftsman, sculptor and ceramist.

The artist Nelson Domínguez Cedeño is one of the personalities invited to the event, dedicated to the 146th anniversary of the birth of the intellectual Regino E. Boti and the 95th anniversary of the publication of his collection of poems Kodak-Ensueño, and to the Guantanamo artist Anto Morales and the engraving modality.

In this regard, the program includes the panel “Los derroteros del grabado en Cuba” ( The paths of engraving in Cuba), by creators from various provinces, on Friday 7th, at 9:30 in the morning, at the CPAP headquarters, and the inauguration of the personal exhibition El mundo como supermercado (The world as a supermarket), by the engraver Yanett Brossuar, in the La Celosía Art Gallery, at the provincial headquarters of the Cuban Writers and Artists Association (Uneac), with a virtual space from three in the afternoon on the CPAP Facebook.
