Guantanamo.- With recognition to researchers, professors and medical students, who are the authors of innovative research works related to the indiscriminate use of drugs, relaxation techniques and resilience in the face of psychosocial changes, the Psicoguaso 2024 event concluded this Friday, based at the University of Medical Sciences of Guantánamo.
As an example was the conference “Drugs or Pandora’s Box” by the PhD. Anselma Betancourt Pulsán, who highlighted the need to prevent addiction and how psychology can contribute in the most current prevention strategies and medical treatments available, including prevention and support of patients.
The event, of national and international reach, is aimed at the importance of psychotherapy and hypnosis as effective methods for the well-being of patients.
The PhD. Alberto Cobián Mena, president of the Cuban Society of Health Psychology, in the conclusions of the Psychoguaso 2024 event, urged the participants to investigate and socialize their research work so that they could turn ideas into action in various scenarios, both within and outside of the nation.
Likewise, the jury of the scientific commission is in charge of selecting the best papers that will represent the Psychology Chapter of Guantanamo to participate in the national Psicosalud event, which will take place in Havana at the end of this year.
