New deputy elected in Guantanamo to the Cuban ParliamentGuantanamo.-The delegates to the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power in Guantanamo province, elected Yoel Perez Garcia, First Secretary of the Party in the province as Deputy to the Cuban Parliament, an organ of the supreme power of the State that executes a process of updating.

Gathered in an extraordinary session and by means of free, secret and direct vote, those who exercise government in neighborhoods and communities of the capital of Guantanamo, approved the proposal that the territory main political figure joins the group of the country legislators.

The above responds to the constitutional mandate that when a Deputy ceases to perform the functions for which he/she was elected, the Council of State processes his/her replacement with the municipal assemblies by other persons with the capacity to join and represent the people.

The election of the new parliamentarian for Guantanamo was preceded by a process of interviews with each one of the delegates in order to know their opinions about the candidate, with a view to occupy the vacant position in the National Assembly of People’s Power.

Yoel Perez Garcia, First Secretary of the Party in Guantanamo province, expressed the commitment that entails the new position as a member of the National Assembly of People’s Power, at the same time he expressed his decision to fight for the integral development of the heroic people of Guantanamo, convinced that Together We Can Do More.

The Guantanamo province has parliamentary representation with twenty-six legislators, among them the Commander of the Rebel Army, Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, the Republic of Cuba Hero.
