Guantanamo.- Raising revolutionary vigilance, the founding reason of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), is the main objective of the largest mass organization in the country to mark the 64th anniversary of its creation, by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro on September 28, 1960.

This was stressed by Digler Ortiz Cruz, coordinator of the CDR in Guantanamo, who assured that everything is ready for the celebration on September 24 in the town of Costa Rica, a municipality of El Salvador.

For the anniversary, the CDR members promote blood donations, with particular effort in Guantanamo, which qualifies as one of the municipalities with the lowest contributions.

In recent statements to the press, the mass leader praised the performance of the Mirando al Mar Brigades and called for increasing revolutionary vigilance in the face of misdeeds that occur such as robberies in warehouses and the theft and slaughter of cattle that must be fought and neutralized in all scenarios.

He praised the behavior of community cultural activities and highlighted the work of the Jagüey La Esperanza group, as well as the performance of José Sánchez Guerra, Historian of the city in the preservation and promotion of history in the neighborhood.

Ortiz Cruz highlighted the joint work with the students of Medical Sciences in visits to places prone to drug use to intensify the fight against this scourge.
