Guantánamo – The delegates to the second Provincial Conference of the National Union of Culture Workers (SNTC), in Guantánamo, participated in a meeting held at the Theater of the Zona de Arte Cultural Center to exchange information with the highest authorities of the culture sector in the eastern territory.
At the meeting, chaired by Yohannie Mendoza Sagó, leader of the SNTC, in the province; Yusneiby Medina Rodríguez, member of the National Secretariat, and Yoelvys Labañino López, provincial director of Culture in the Upper East of Cuba, shared information regarding the main guidelines and work priorities of the sector.
The participants also presented their concerns and proposals for strengthening union work in each municipality, where they work to.
The meeting, which is part of the context of the organic process with a view to the second National Conference of the SNTC, to be held next November, was attended by Lídice Fraga Ursula, Head of the Ideological Department of the Provincial Committee of the Party in Guantánamo.
The SNTC, together with the Ministry of the sector and the Institute of Information and Social Communication, developed this year in the country the Movement Culture in Revolution, which aims to recognize individual and collective efforts and reward the results for the efficiency shown in the work carried out.
The movement was part of the 47th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the SNTC, which took place on September 7 in the Holguín Province, which was awarded the title of National Vanguard and was chosen as the venue for the celebration.
