To face the current emergency due to intense rains in the Guantanamo Province, in the municipality San Antonio del Sur, food and vegetable production is collected, mainly in the MICROJET of Yateritas and cooperatives of the Caujerí Valley, Marieta Gámez Borges, mayor and member of the Municipal Defense Council activated this Thursday, reported.
The government leader also insisted that the population must comply with the measures to protect the economy to avoid product losses.
She specified that at this time the Pozo Azul dam presents a favorable situation by collecting 11 million cubic meters of water, to supply the population of the main agricultural emporium of the province.
The most benefited so far is the Los Asientos reservoir, which collects 13 million cubic meters. The Sabanalamar – Pozo Azul transfer collect 1,400 liters per second and the necessary safety measures are adopted to maintain the current rainy conditions.
Since early morning this Friday in the municipality San Antonio del Sur, torrential rain have persisted, becoming strong and intense in some localities, especially in the areas of Guaibanó and Puriales.
