Guantanamo.- Thanks to the swift action of community members, the medical staff of San Antonio del Sur and a surgical team from the Dr. Agostino Neto General Teaching Hospital, in Guantánamo Province, saved the life of Yanisleisy Domínguez Nápoles, who is from the hard-to-reach settlement Letreros de Caujeri, in the municipality of San Antonio del Sur.

The patient suffered from a severe abdominal pain and she was diagnosed with a ruptured ectopic pregnancy.

Due to the severity of her condition, there was no time to reach the provincial hospital, so she underwent surgery at the IV Congreso Polyclinic in the chief town of the municipality.

This is the second operation for this reason at this health facility in less than two months. This time, the surgical procedure was completed in 25 minutes, demonstrating that it has all the necessary conditions to perform this type of surgery and others within the municipality.

The 36-year-old patient has 5 children, 3 of them still young, which makes a more beautiful gesture of saving her life,  so that she can continue to be the beloved mother within the family.
