The sociocultural project Artesanendo con Yeny, which brings together 82 Guantanamo children, celebrates its tenth anniversary of foundation with a program of activities that includes the presentation of collections of handicrafts and paintings, dance and music at its two venues located in the Caribe and Obrero districts.
Its members presented at the Teatro Guaso in the Guantánamo City a show with choreographies of Cuban and Caribbean dances, fashion catwalks with clothes made of recycled materials, theater performances and children’s choirs.
The Ismaelillo children’s toy library, the Teatro Guiñol and the Sala Campanario are spaces where the 10th anniversary of the project is also celebrated, which favors the development of artistic skills and promotes the healthy recreation of infants and their families.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 5 to 6:30 PM, the children usually meet again at the Caribe neighborhood’s pool sports complex, and on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 3 to 4:20 in the afternoon, at the Pioneers Palace of the Ramón Infante García, assured Yenercy Ramírez Ramírez, the manager and cultural promoter with more than 15 years of work experience.
The professional dancer Yeineris Ramírez Ramírez, a member of the Danza Fragmentada Company, contributes to the development of the project creating choreographies and shows.
Founded in 2013, the project Artesaneando con Yeni announces every two years the Contest Soy Feliz Artesaneando con Yeni, in which infants with a great imagination and skill, drawing, creating fantasy costumes made with nylon, plastic knobs and colored paper, in addition to writing stories and poems. ][/bg_c
