Guantanamo.- Socially impactful projects were inaugurated this August 15th in honor of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz’s 99th birth and the 514th anniversary of the founding of Villa Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de Baracoa.

A bridge in the community of Cagüina, San Luis, in the Jamal Popular Council, built with the contributions and efforts of residents, was the first of the benefits to be visited during the celebration.

Following, the main auditorium visited the Octavio de la Concepción y de la Pedraja General Teaching Hospital, a space that offers all the comforts with medical diagnostic test equipment, video conference room, and organize professional training initiatives.

 

Likewise, five new, 100% eco-friendly tricycles are added to the five others of Taxi Baracoa that are already in operation, all operating on two routes: Cabacú-Ciudad and Ciudad-Turey, at a price of 10 pesos per trip.

In response to a long-standing request from the population of the Joa community, in the Urban Reform district, a medical office was inaugurated that benefits to a largely aging population who previously had to go to a distant facility on Juración Street to receive medical care service.

Present at the inauguration of the works on August 15 in Baracoa were Joel Abella Legrá, member of the Municipal Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba for political and ideological matters; Eider Milhet Laborí, president of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power; Mayelín Frómeta Alayo, municipal mayor; and Fernando Abad Morales, deputy mayor for investment matters.
