Best players of the 63rd National Baseball Series receive awardsTHE BEST offensive, defensive and pitching players of the recently concluded 63rd National Baseball Series were awarded this Sunday at a gala ceremony held at the theater of the University of Medical Sciences in Las Tunas province.

The ceremony took place hours after the victory of the Leñadores de Las Tunas against Vegueros de Pinar del Río, with which they kept the crown they won in the last national series.

The activity was presided over by Walter Simon Noris, first secretary of the PCC in Las Tunas; Raul Fornes Valenciano, first vice-president of Inder and Juan Reinaldo Perez Pardo, president of the Cuban Baseball-Softball Federation.

With the presence of prestigious figures in the history of national baseball, the All-Star team was recognized, as well as the individual leaders of each department.

A special moment was the awarding of the most integral players by position, for which both offensive and defensive performance were valued.

Among them were catcher Oscar Valdes (IND), Alexei Ramirez (PRI, first base), Osvaldo Abreu (GRA, third base) and right-handed pitcher Danny Betancourt (SCU). The Guillermon Moncada stadium in Santiago de Cuba was selected as the best stadium.
