The book of chronicles titled Verdades sin miedo (Truths Without Fear) was launched by its author, the renowned Portuguese journalist Sergio Oliveira, at the Main Hall of the Guantanamo University of Medical Sciences, as part of the academic program of the 5th International Meeting Lifestyles vs. Toxic Habits, which begins on the 8th and ends on November 11th.

Oliveira is the editor of the Dependencies magazine and collaborates with the Spanish Scientific Society for the Study on Alcoholism and Other Drug Addictions, which is made up of experienced professionals who offer programs for training, prevention, treatment, course design and lines of research.

During his literary presentation, the writer specified that the aforementioned book was launched for the first time this year on the occasion of commemorating the 49th anniversary of the Claveles Revolution in Portugal.

Oliveira, a native of the city of Porto, highlighted that his book contains texts that invite us to reflect on an atypical world and denounce the existence of mafia networks, the children and women trafficking, the drug business, organized crime,violence, terrorism, wars and arms trade, hunger, the misery of slavery, rape and evil business on a global scale.

For his prestigious intellectual career in favor of the fight for social justice, world peace and against drugs, Sergio Oliveira received the diploma of Honorary Member of the Chair of Drug Addiction Prevention of the UCMGT, from the hands of its President, Dr.in Health Sciences Anselma Betancourt Pulsán, Heroine of Labor of the Republic of Cuba and director of the provincial Council of Scientific Societies of the sector.
