Buena Fe Cuban group will inaugurate today the central stage of La Isla de la Musica (Islansd of Music) with a big concert, a new recreational space in this capital that opens its doors with the summer in Cuba.

The new project, located on First Street and 38th Street, in the Havana neighborhood of Miramar, also confirmed presentations on this first night by troubadour Nelson Valdes and the young pop-rock band D’ Cuba.

According to its organizers, La Isla de la Musica is expected to be an inclusive place, where the public will be able to exchange with diverse proposals and rhythms such as son, trova, song, alternative music, pop, rumba, jazz and popular dance music.

In the future, top bands such as Alexander Abreu and Havana D’ Primera, Haila Maria Mompie, Maykel Blanco and Salsa Mayor will also perform, as well as renowned singer Waldo Mendoza and virtuoso pianist and composer Alejandro Falcón, among others.

More than 150 Cuban artists and groups are expected to perform on the project’s stages and among the special guests will be foreign artists who will travel from Venezuela, Spain and the United States to perform at La Isla de la Musica.

Its doors will be open all summer from Thursday to Saturday, from 7:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., while on Sundays it will be open until 2:00 a.m. local time with children’s and community activities.

La Isla de la Musica is the result of the joint work of the Local Development Projects Mambo Producciones and Complejo Recreativo ‘Marcelo Salado’, the company Mambo SRL, the Government of Havana, different cultural instances of this province, as well as the Empresa de Grabaciones y Ediciones Musicales Egrem.
