Guantánamo.- Children in the rural community of Banito, in El Salvador Municipality, took part in an artistic activity combining creativity and historical reflection as part of the summer cultural program “Summer with My People.”
The event brought together cultural promoters and the Hermanos Sánchez Olmedo Public Library, giving children the opportunity to express their ideas about Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro through drawings and paintings.
The activity was organized within the cultural initiative “ Fidel entre nosotros” (Fidel Among Us), a permanent space dedicated to preserving historical memory through artistic expression.
Organizers said the project aims to bring younger generations closer to the country’s history and encourage reflection on the life and legacy of Fidel Castro.
The gathering in Banito settlement provided children with an opportunity to develop their creativity while strengthening their connection with local history and community traditions.
The event forms part of a broader summer program designed to bring cultural and recreational activities to rural and remote communities, with a focus on the participation of children and young people.
