China’s Ministry of Commerce expressed its firm opposition to the United States’ decision to impose “reciprocal” tariffs on its trading partners and promised countermeasures to protect their interests.Beijing noted that historically, increasing tariffs has not resolved the United States’ domestic problems but has affected its own interests while jeopardizing global economic development and the stability of production and supply chains.
“A trade war has no winners, and protectionism has no future,” the Ministry of Commerce stated.
China urged the United States to immediately cancel the tariffs and resolve its differences with its trading partners through equal dialogue.
Several nations have already expressed their strong opposition to this measure, calling it a unilateral and abusive practice.
