Guantánamo.- Once again, the Cine Andante Festival in Guantánamo brought audiovisual materials to remote settlements in the province, providing a special opportunity to exchange experiences and promote the young filmmakers who showcased their work in pursuit of better creations.
One of the most notable events was the “Views of Titón” Colloquium, during which the making-off of the film “Guantanamera,” directed by Cuban directors Juan Carlos Tabío and Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, was screened.
Likewise, as part of the tribute to Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, the exhibition entitled: “The Forging of a Filmmaker (Titón from 1928 to 1959)” was inaugurated, which collects scripts, photographs and documents belonging to this important director, such as the one that certifies his graduation and film thesis in Italy, at the Center for Experimentation in Cinematography, his entry into an American association of pianists, and his law graduate card.
