Guantánamo – At the entrance of Regino Eladio Boti Provincial Library, the bees and bumblebees of the Colmenita Company of Guantánamo shared the sweetness of their honey with traditional children’s song to encourage love, solidarity and peace in the world. The initiative is part of a campaign promoted by the Provincial Delegation of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP).
During the concert for Peace performed by the Colmenita Children Company in Guantánamo, there was a moment to promote the book “Peace does not need pigeons”, published by a the Ediciones Unión brand, a meeting attended by workers from the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office, the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), the union of culture workers, as well as students from educational centers in the territory.
Motivated by the World Day of Peace, this September 21, and in solidarity with the people of Palestine, the children choir of the infant theater company, led by Xiomara Solís Gómez and by the art instructor Guidaysi Sariol Ramírez, performed a several songs that praised the event.
Prior to this meeting and as part of the campaign sponsored by the ICAP Provincial Delegation, which began on September 4 and runs until the 29th, they held the awards ceremony for the Contest for Peace that took place at the 14 de Junio Special Schools.
On the 23rd of this month, they will present the book “Inmigración de Puerto Rico a Guantánamo” (Immigration from Puerto Rico to Guantánamo) by author Yusbelis Martí Guerra at the headquarters of the José Martí Cultural Society in the territory.
