Guantanamo.- The Antonia Luisa Cabal Salis Concert Hall hosted the performance of the “Sultasto” Guitar Quartet from the province of Las Tunas, directed by maestra Elvira Skourtis, invited to take part of the program of the Lilí Martínez Griñán Provincial Music Center in Guantánamo during the 2025 Cuban Culture Day.

The concert by this virtuoso ensemble, a benchmark in chamber music in the country, also served as a special tribute to Guantanamo maestro Conrado Monier on his 70th birthday. This cultural figure to whom the Provincial Music Center is dedicating the 2025 event to celebrate his creative influence as a saxophonist, teacher, arranger, and producer.

Students of the The Antonia Luisa Cabal Salis Professional Music School attended the event, which was distinguished by the memorable performance of a highly Cuban repertoire by the talented instrumentalists of the Sultasto Quartet, including a selection of compositions by Beatriz Corona, José María Vitier, and Leo Brouwer.

The concert ended with the performance of the Las Tunas quartet “Sultasto” together with the Guantánamo Guitar Orchestra, a moment of convergence led by maestra Elvira Skourtis, which characterized the opening day of the Cuban Culture Day in Guantánamo.
