Guantanamo.- Cuba’s Justice Minister Oscar Manuel Silvera represented the island nation at the Signing Ceremony of the Convention on the Establishment of the International Mediation Organization (IOMed).
According to information on the Facebook page of the organization, the ceremony was presided over by China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Some 33 countries signed the convention to consolidate a new mechanism for the peaceful settlement of conflicts and the development of nations through international mediation.
The information explains that IOMed aims at establishing a mediation system to settle controversies, promoting sustainable development through international dialog and contributing to global governance based on the friendly settlement of conflicts.
Hong Kong hosts the IOMed, a platform for developing nations.
