Guantanamo.- Cuba plays against Bulgaria today in the opener of the third and final week of the Volleyball Nations League preliminaries in Gdansk, Poland.
Next on Team Cuba’s schedule are the games against Poland on Thursday, France on Friday, and China on Sunday.
The Cubans, who seek to finish among the top eight teams and thus improve the ninth place they achieved in the 2024 VNL, arrived in Gdansk after losing two closed-door training games to the French team at the Futuroscope Arena in Chansseneuil-Du-Poitou.
They concluded the first week in Rio de Janeiro with a 3-2 victory over Brazil and defeats against Slovenia (1-3), Ukraine (2-3), and U.S.A. (1-3), albeit in the second week in Belgrade they beat Serbia, Germany, and the Netherlands, but lost the final game against Argentina.
Cuba’s main goal is to participate in the World Cup, to be held in the Philippines in September.
