Guantánamo.- Guantanamo natives Yandro Moracén Vicet and assistant coach Ernesto Preval Pérez are part of the Cuban Youth Baseball-5 team that won the gold medal this Sunday at the World Championship in that category, held in Nayarit, Mexico.

Yandro, a 17-year-old, feels the pride of his country by reaching the top of the podium in this competition, in which they achieved the title undefeated.

Also on the team is Carlos Ernesto Preval Pérez as assistant coach, a two-time national runner-up as an assistant and twice national champion, once as an assistant, and in 2025 the manager of the Guantánamo team, which won all the medals in the first category.

Under the technical direction of Sergio Arturo Pérez, world and national champion in this category, the Cuban Youth Baseball-5 team retained the title and thus qualified directly for the Youth Olympic Games.

The inclusion of Guantanamo native Yandro Moracén in Team Cuba is the result of his dedication and progress in 5-a-side baseball, as well as the outstanding results of Carlos Ernesto Preval, who is included among the coaches.
