Guantanamo.-The Cuban Deputy Prime Minister, Inés María Chapman, together with Yoel Pérez, first secretary of the Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), in Guantánamo, and Alis Azahares, Governor of the province, visited the Baracoa Municipality with the aim of verifying the recovery of the territory after the passage of Hurricane Oscar, which left a trail of damage in all sectors.
The visitors exchanged with members of the Municipal Defense Council to know about the situation of the municipality in terms of specific sectors such as Housing and Agriculture, as well as the organization of the processing tables for the recovery of the homes.
They also talked about the help that the population can provide in the sanitation work and in the formation of brigades to rebuild their own homes with what they were able to recover after the meteor passed.
For his part, the first secretary of the provincial PCC urged discipline, unity and organization so that recovery actions flow, while calling on the local press to strengthen its presence on social networks, a space that enemies intentionally seize opportunities to mislead the population.
At the meeting, local directors reported on tasks being carried out to revitalize the main services and explained that they have not been able to reach intricate areas with major damage due to being cut off, such as the Mandinga community.
The group of visitors who came to Baracoa and headed by the vice prime minister of Cuba, Inés María Chapman, said that after the passage of Oscar the situation in the Guantanamo Province is more complex in the municipalities of San Antonio del Sur, Imías and Maisí.
