Guantanamo.- The President of the National Defense Council, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, arrived in Guantánamo on Thursday to assess the area’s recovery efforts as part of his agenda visti to eastern Cuba following Hurricane Melissa.

At the 14 de Junio Special School, he inaugurated a new auditory rehabilitation room equipped with 10 modern computers that will facilitate the teaching and learning process for approximately 30 children with cochlear implants, as well as those who are deaf.

The school’s director, Yaima Salas Ruiz, informed the Cuban President that the technology is unique in the country for this type of education and allows for the stimulation of sound in students during auditory perception classes.
