The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, announced that he will join the government visit that is being carried out in Santiago de Cuba and Guantanamo.
“We will visit several municipalities, we will exchange with agricultural producers, we will visit educational institutions and neighborhoods in transformation,” he said on the social network Twitter.

This Wednesday, in Guantanamo, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, during the tour, was interested in initiatives aimed at public transportation, food for the people, accommodation and others linked to the sociocultural development of communities.
Likewise, he knew about the endogenous production of construction materials, the increase in the areas aimed at the cultivation of cocoa, the main exportable item of the municipality Baracoa, the quality of food in the units of the Family Care System, as well as for attention to more than 5,200 people in vulnerable conditions and neighborhoods in transformation.
On the other hand, the vice prime minister and head of Economy and Planning, Alejandro Gil Fernández, in the context of the government visit in Santiago de Cuba, visited several centers of social and economic importance in the region.
Gil Fernández verified in the state agricultural market La Santiaguera the behavior of prices, the routing of agricultural productions and their quality. He verified the work carried out by the contracting committees, and the merchandise cost sheet, in addition to the variety of offers.
