Guantanamo.- After achieving her qualification in extremis in Rio de Janeiro, the Cuban rower Yariulvis Cobas was eliminated in tthe fight for medals, in the 33rd edition of the Olympic Games. She dropped into the play-off position of the women’s Single Scull.

The competition took place at the Vaires-Sur-Marne Nautical Stadium in Aguas Tranquilas and, as in the previous day, the representative of the largest of the Antilles was outclassed in every way.

The Cuban Yariulvis Cobas qualified today Final E Women’s Single Sculls Rowing, corresponding to the rowing event of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games that takes place until next August 11.

At the Vaires-Sur-Marne Nautical Stadium, the Guantanamo native athlete, of 32 years old, won with a time of 8:36:16, coming ahead of Singapore’s 36-year-old Saiyidah Aisyah Mohamed Rafa’ee  (8:47:41) and Soaad Alfaqaan (Kuwait) who had 9:01:78.

This Sunday, Cobas competed in dropping into the play-off position in Paris 2024’s qualification match for the quarterfinals, but she was third in the first heat with a time 8:10.64 min, and failed to place herself among the two rowers who advanced to the next phase.
